Amanos Music

For more than eight joyful years, Amanos have shared their eclectic, sometimes familiar music and their massive energy with audiences across Europe.
A few years ago they were called Dawn Chorus who played in Glasgow, the Côte d’Azur, Bratislava, Umea (Sweden), Kent, London and Burgundy.

Many of the audiences and listeners – of all ages – loved & praised the vocal harmonies, the beauty of the classical cello, the energy too. This was all alongside the opportunity to join in, share the stage.

A vital and enhancing factor is that the music is created and shared through collaboration.

A community of creation is the driving force.

Guitars, cello, ukulele, kazoos, violin, percussion and the double bass have all been used in a range of genres.
These were, or showed traces of – indie, folk, pop, jazz, Celtic, Bluegrass, World and of course, singer-songwriter.
Quite a few very different, super-talented musicians have contributed to the band with a song, or even played in entire gigs or contributed to recordings.
We constantly sought fun and to give cheer!

Key to ‘our’ sound, what is striven for, are keen, strong vocalists who give harmony, variety and personality to the songs – both originals and covers.

Some of these willing enthusiasts often accompanied the band in an international array of songs and anthems using voice or tambourine or simply helping; always with smiles.

Quite a few different, super-talented musicians have contributed to the band with a song or even played for whole gigs and on recordings.

Key to the sound has always been strong, keen vocalists who have given harmonies and variety to the songs; Ornella Boinnot and Zoe Wren amongst others. They both now have their own youtube channel!

Both sang in the recording of Make It Home.

Fun is the Password

Because of the strong belief in classical music as the core the cello has been and will be the base and the bass :0) .

Ben Guiet was the first talented cellist, now a master of composition – also an improvisation enthusiast who played on the 1st two e.p’s and in concerts from Glasgow to Nice.
Michel Roullin joined us for a few gigs in Burgundy too, adding his love of reels.

For a series of concerts in Burgundy and England 2023, we had the intense talent of Var Lindenskov – hailing from the Faroe Islands and its orchestra. What a positive contribution she made!

This summer the accomplished double bassist Francois Egron joined us from Strasbourg, playing 2 very different and successful concerts. He also played on our Hometown cover.

At the ever-evolving core of Amanos is one music maniac – Stam – who has been pleased to entice many wonderful professional collaborators, some more permanent than others. In addition to the gracious gift of those musicians mentioned above, we have had the illustrious company of

  • Alban & Duo Azahar
  • Arparla
  • Antoine Ferrera [utterly invaluable from bass to sound studio]
  • Lena Golubowska
  • Danni Stembridge
  • Matthias Beaudoin
